Annual torch run held in Urbana

On Tuesday, officers with the Urbana Police Division and deputies with the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office ran a 2.2-mile run in honor of the Special Olympic athletes.

The state-wide fundraiser raises funds for the Ohio Special Olympics.

This was the 10th year that the Urbana Police Division has participated in the fundraiser.

Throughout the run, officers were cheered on by business people and residents along the route.

At the completion of the run, the officers were provided drinks and treats that were furnished by the Champaign County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
