YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Mahoning County Board of Commissioners recognized the Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities (MCBDD) during its regular meeting Thursday, with a special proclamation marking Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.
Commissioners honored the board for its work supporting children and adults with developmental disabilities across the county.
During the meeting, members of the board highlighted several programs and services they provide, including education initiatives and community outreach aimed at connecting families with support and resources.
“If a teacher of a student sees one of our presentations for education, they call up and inquire about our services. So our education programs and our outreach programs and all the work we do collectively have had a profound ripple effect of paramount importance in our community,” said William Clark, MCBDD community outreach advocate.
Officials say the board continues to expand outreach efforts across Mahoning County to help ensure more families know about the services and support available to them.
