Voters show their compassion by approving disability funding during hard times

On behalf of the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities, I congratulate the many Ohio county developmental disability boards whose levies were approved in Tuesday’s elections, including the four here in Northeast Ohio -- in Ashtabula, Mahoning, Stark, and Wayne counties.

Local levies on property taxes are the primary funds for supporting people with developmental disabilities throughout their lives. These are challenging financial times for many of us, but voters have shown that Ohioans are committed to supporting their neighbors by voting in favor of developmental disability levies.

Great job, Ohio voters!
