Aktion Club celebrates National Foster Care Month
Staff
TIFFIN — The Seneca County Opportunity Center Aktion Club gathered for its monthly meeting with special guests from Job and Family Services, Mindy Strup Kummerer, Public Relations Specialist, and Crystal Smith, Foster Care Supervisor. The visit highlighted the importance of foster care and the dedication of those who serve children and families in need, which educated individuals on the topic before they started their project.
In recognition of May being National Foster Care Month, a time to honor foster parents for their unwavering commitment to providing stability and care, the Aktion Club members organized a heartfelt community service project. They assembled goody bags for the 13 foster families in Seneca County, filling them with snacks and four engaging scavenger hunt games crafted by the club. The goal was to give families a resource for a free, fun-filled day to create lasting memories together.
SCOC Aktion Club extends its gratitude to Mindy and Crystal for sharing their day and insights with the club, inspiring members to continue making a positive impact in their community.
