Washington County primary election results

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ohio (WTAP) - Two levies were on the ballot Tuesday during the Ohio primary election.
The Board of Developmental Disabilities Additional Tax Levy passed. The levy will fund programs and services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Washington County.
Voters passed the levy, 54% to 46%.
The tax for the levy will begin in 2027.
Voters rejected the Library Additional Tax Levy.
This levy would have been an additional tax to help pay current expenses for the library. Voters rejected it, 51.5% to 48.5%.
Stephanie Lang won the Republican vote for the Washington County Commission seat. Lang beat incumbent Eddie Place by more than 1,200 votes.
Lang will face Brian Whalin in the November election for the commission seat.
Voters approved the Marietta Township Fire and Emergency Services (Additional) Tax Levy, with 61% in favor.
Voters approved the East Muskingum Fire District Fire Protection and Emergency Medical Services (Additional) Tax Levy, with 69.8% in favor.
Voters approved Sunday liquor sales in Beverly. The measure passed by more than 161 votes.
