DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities’ (MCBDDS) fifth annual Disability Pride Rally will be this Friday. 

The July 24 event will begin at 11 a.m. at Cooper Park, behind the Main Dayton Metro Library in downtown. (It will not take place if there is rain, thunder or lightning.)

Organizers said the event will celebrate people living with disabilities and their contributions to the Miami Valley. It will also give them a space to express pride in who they are and promote social inclusion / advocacy. Lastly, the event will commemorate the Americans with Disabilities Act’s (ADA) 36th anniversary.

There will be multiple keynote speakers with developmental disabilities. They will share their thoughts on topics spanning Disability Pride and the celebration of the ADA anniversary. 

The MCBDDS is a local government agency which severs over 5,500 children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Montgomery County.
