On June 17 the Coshocton County Board of Developmental Disabilities held an awards luncheon and presented the Coshocton Elks Lodge #376 with an award. It was a Senatorial Citation presented by Ohio Sen. Andrew O. Brenner recognizing the Coshocton Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge #376 for its fundraising efforts and support of the Coshocton County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

A Coshocton Elks Lodge #376 member also volunteers her time to coach the Hopewell Indians basketball team. This past season they garnered a winning season and were able to finish in fourth place in the state tournament. Javanna Ramsey, a Coshocton Lodge #376 member, is a volunteer coach for the team and enjoys the experience of coaching and becoming friends with the members of the team. She also was the driving force behind the idea to create a Special Olympics fundraiser night at the lodge, which has been held the past two years and has raised a total of $4,100.

The Coshocton Elks Lodge also was able to send the winning team to a Cleveland Charge basketball game, where the team members got to experience warm-ups on the floor pregame and court-side seating. Also, the Elks were able to provide uniforms for the team this past season.

The Coshocton Elks provided the funding through its 501(c)(3) committee. The board members are Jim Kreis, David Bush, Brian Crilow and Mike Wilson.
