NEW MADISON – Our team from the Darke County Board of DD had an incredible time with the students in grades 3-6 at Tri-Village! While we regularly visit classrooms to discuss disabilities, differences, kindness, and acceptance, this year, Tri-Village organized a special full-day, hands-on event to deeply engage students and enhance their learning.
The event featured interactive activities that allowed students to experience what it’s like to navigate life with a disability, fostering empathy, understanding, and acceptance. Stations focused on various disabilities, including ADHD/sensory overload, Autism, Dyslexia, Blindness/visual impairments, Mobility/Physical disabilities, and Communication deficits.
A big thank you to the classroom teachers who prepared students with important conversations and books like “Out of My Mind.” We are grateful to Tri-Village for coordinating such an important and impactful day!
