AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A public meeting has been scheduled to discuss the retirement and rehire of the superintendent of the Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
According to the Board, William Whitacre wants to retire, draw a pension and is seeking to be rehired by the Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities in the same position.
A public meeting is scheduled for March 10 at 6 p.m. to discuss the issue. The meeting will be in the Large Conference Room at the back of Leonard Kirtz School, 4801 Woodbridge Drive, Austintown.
Whitacre was hired in 2014 to replace Larry Duck at a salary to reach $135,000 over three years. WKBN 27 First News reached out to the Board to determine Whitacre’s current salary, but has not heard back at the time of this report.
