Winners of the United Way of Lake County Emerging Leaders Seventh Annual 4 Under 40 Awards will be recognized Jan. 29 at The Everly in Mentor.
According to UWLC, the awards serve to recognize Lake County’s “outstanding young professionals for their hard work in the areas of leadership, community involvement and entrepreneurship.”
This year’s winners are:
• Ashley Cozzens, community relations director with the Lake County Board of Developmental Disabilities/Deepwood
• Joel DiMare, director of administrative services with the Lake County Commissioners Office
• Zerina Hutchinson, owner of Fit4Mom Lake County
• Brandon Morse, owner/operator of Furniture Warehouse Ohio
The reception, which will run from 5 to 7 p.m., is open to the public with advance registration.

“Highlighting our honorees allows us to celebrate not just individual success, but the positive impact these leaders have on the entire Lake County community,” said Emerging Leaders Chairperson and 2023 4 Under 40 winner Lindsay Defeo.
Dione DeMitro, UWLC president and CEO, said it’s meaningful to recognize the county’s rising stars.
“Their accomplishments remind us of the power of leadership and the legacy we can build by giving back,” she added.
Nominees were submitted by members of the community, and all were required to live in Lake County and be between the ages of 21 and 40 years old in 2025.
Winners are selected by a committee following a holistic review of their personal achievements, professional efforts and contributions to the community.
The evaluation and scoring process maintained by the organization keeps nominees and their nominators confidential, officials noted.
The Emerging Leaders of United Way of Lake County welcomes new members interested in volunteering their time and talent to impact Lake County’s youth.
