NILES, Ohio (WKBN) – The Transportation Department at Fairhaven School is giving its kids a Christmas celebration with a fitting theme: The Polar Express.
The school is operated by the Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
The Transportation Department set up its office with cookie decorating, hot chocolate, and, of course, the Polar Express playing in the background for all of its preschool classes.
“A lot of people think transportation is just routes and school buses, but we go beyond that, and we want to help build community and connection with our students, and maybe provide a magical experience for our students outside of the school bus,” said Jennifer Durno, director of transportation for Fairhaven.
The preschool classes came in two at a time, and when they finished, they all got a picture with Santa.
