NEW LEXINGTON — Mount Aloysius has announced that David Couch has been selected as the organization’s next chief executive Oofficer. Mr. Couch will officially assume the role on Feb. 1, 2026.
David brings more than 19 years of executive leadership experience in the field of developmental disabilities. He currently serves as the superintendent of the Perry County Board of Developmental Disabilities, where he has overseen county-wide services, strengthened community partnerships, expanded person-centered programming, and championed initiatives that promote inclusion, independence, and quality of life for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. He will retire from this position at the end of this year.
The Mount Aloysius Board of Directors unanimously agreed that David’s extensive experience and strong familiarity with Perry County and the developmental disability field and services make him an exceptional fit for the CEO role.
As Mount Aloysius explores opportunities to expand its services with the developmental disability field, David will focus on identifying growth opportunities and strengthening partnerships with local and state agencies. The CEO position is essential to ensure dedicated focus on the growth and future direction of Mount Aloysius. The traditional administrator role will continue to oversee daily facility operations, and we are grateful to have Shannon Jones continuing to serve in this capacity.
In his new role, David will work closely with staff, families, stakeholders, and community partners to ensure the organization continues to provide compassionate, person-centered care aligned with its mission and values.
David will begin visiting the campus in the coming months to meet staff and residents in advance of his start date.
