A traveling banner aims to promote a program that could potentially save someone's life.
The Huron County Board of Developmental Disabilities posted online about the Huron County Project Lifesaver program.
Project Lifesaver, a national nonprofit group headquartered in Florida, aims to help authorities and families locate their loved ones who are prone to wandering away from their homes by distributing special tracking wristbands that authorities can use to pinpoint a person's location.
The county board is using a traveling roadside banner — as of last week, located in Monroeville — to spread awareness of the county's Project Lifesaver program.
"It’s traveling around Huron County to help raise awareness about a program that helps find people who may go missing due to a disability or memory issue," the board's post states.
The developmental disabilities board post included information on how Huron County residents can learn more about the program and for those seeking to enroll their loved one in the program:
