CHESTERLAND, Ohio -- The Geauga County Board of Developmental Disabilities will host a free Community Carnival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 7 at The Metzenbaum Center.
The event will celebrate Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month with an afternoon designed to be welcoming, inclusive and — most importantly — fun.
Everything at the carnival is free. That includes the games, the food, and the prizes, making it an easy yes for families looking for something to do without opening their wallets.
The Metzenbaum Center is the longtime home of the county board’s programs and services. The Geauga County Board of Developmental Disabilities supports children and adults with developmental disabilities through education, employment services, residential support, and early intervention programs across the county.
Beyond cotton-candy energy and carnival-style activities, the event is about visibility and awareness.
Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, observed each March, focuses on highlighting the contributions of people with developmental disabilities and promoting inclusion in schools, workplaces, and communities.
