Ohio Superintendents of County Boards of MRDD

The Ohio Superintendents of County Boards of mental retardation and developmental disabilities (OSCBMRDD) is your Association, whether you are a new Superintendent or a veteran.

Our mission is to foster the growth and development of our members to help ensure that the highest quality services are provided to Ohio’s citizens with mental retardation and developmental disabilities and their families.

OSCBMRDD is incorporated as a 501 (c) (6) organization, working with the Ohio Association of County Boards of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (OACB) to develop and monitor legislation and rules which affect county boards of MRDD.

Mission

To serve the Superintendents of County Boards of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities; to facilitate education and professional growth of members; to provide a vehicle for communication and exchange of information; to aid in the establishment of professional standards and guidelines for services rendered; to recommend and support necessary legislation at the state level; and, to recommend and support the development of new programs and services which will result in a better quality of life for Ohio’s citizens with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities.

  • Mentor Programs for the new Superintendent
  • Training Programs for new Superintendents (in concert with OACBMRDD)
  • Legal Services Fund for use by members
  • Contract Review by qualified attorneys
  • Representation on major policy groups in the MRDD field
  • Input on the direction and priorities of OSCBMRDD each year
  • Communication with ODMRDD and statewide groups
  • Conferences to foster on-going professional development

Superintendent Development Program

The Superintendent Development Program is a Ohio Department of MR/DD approved curriculum of at least fifty hours which is comprised of instruction, observation, and participation in practical experiences related to the role of superintendents of county boards in Ohio's MRDD service delivery system.
